Not sure why some guys here are detractors on bw workouts, but then again, this is a "bodybuilding" site, BRO. However no-one (other than the first person to respond) has really answered my question.is Athlene Xero worth it as a progression from T25?Īthlean Xero has detractors and proponents. Light, strong, flexible and yes of course.aerobically fit also. Look at any MotoGP or World Superbike rider.does it look like all they do is run? As I said, I am not looking to go to their extremes, but that what my goals are. Please do not comment if you do not know what you are talking about."taking up running" will help to some extent because you do need to be fit from a cardio standpoint also, but you need to be very physically strong, yet also flexible while still being light weight to get the best out of a bike on track. Now do that for 30 minutes solid and tell me you don't need strength and endurance. You try to take a 150kg (330lb) of metal which is travelling straight at over 100 MPH with rotating gyroscopic forces (wheels, & engine) which are all fighting you to make it go straight and you try to make it turn.now do that for 15 or so corners, then add braking forces where you have over 1G of force on your arms as you brace yourself while you brake, and at high speed add the wind trying to rip you off the back of the bike as you come up from behind the screen. I can see you have never ridden a bike fast on track. If not, what else do you recommend.bearing in mind I am the kind of person who does better when following others instead of making up my own plan. How does Athlean Xero compare? Is it a progression from T25, and is it worth it for someone in my position? I am also looking at getting some Lebert Equalizser bars and a pullup bar to help with bodyweight exercises, but really I am looking for something I can do at home which is mainly body weight related. I don't have access to a gym, and honestly I have such a busy life right now I don't have time to get to a gym right now.maybe in the future, but not now. So.while on my journey I have come across Athlean Xero which seems like it might be a good progression on from Focus T25. If you watch MotoGP and have seen Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, etc you'll know what I am going for.albeit, not quite to the extremes they take it.
I am looking to be as light as possible (excess weight just slows you down), but also be as strong as possible. Truely for me.I ride motorbikes, fast at the track and that is what spurred me to do this and has kept me focussed.
I am NOT going for the full bodybuilder / Mens Health model look.
So anyway, here I am now, looking to build a bit more muscle and lose a bit more fat. Speaking of which, my body fat dropped from 33% down to 22% also (measured on Bioimpedence scales which may not be 100% accurate, but they are consistent at least). Originally weighed 167lb, which at only 5'4" made me quite overweight! I had tried to lose it many times from diet alone with no luck, but last year I decided to get the Focus T25 workout DVD's and to be honest, for me at least, it seems to have worked! I am no 133lb and my lean muscle mass seems to have stayed about the same, but obviously with some better definition due to less body fat. Hi everyone, new here, so take it easy on me.īasically I started my fitness regime some 18 months ago or so.
